Backstories

Backstories is a collection of sculptures and the unusual stories behind them, as described through graphic ephemera displayed along with each piece. This work defies the boundaries of sculpture and installation and requires the viewer to spend time and exploration to reveal its story, perhaps even after they have left the exhibition. "Doug Cannell: Selections from Backstories" includes nine installations from the collection, and is currently on view at the Dennos Museum (Traverse City, MI).
